Would you buy existing Origins figures again if packaged differently?

First off, thank you for reading this thread after my overly wordy title! I couldn't think of a more succinct way to phrase it.

Would you buy, say, Mekaneck (again for most of us) if he was released on a single card?

How about Prince Adam? Keldor? Kronis? ToD Sorceress?

I collect both loose and MOC so I would. I could see Mattel trying this to extend Origins for a few more waves.

What say you, fellow MOTU fans? Would this fly with you or is it a total waste of time?

Yes, I would buy those figures again if they have some variations like different vests, armors and heads. However I'd rather see those out sparingly while more important figures are getting released.

If it's just packaging, probably not.

If it's colors and sculpt variations, yeah, probably.

The vintage line had quite a few like half boots Skeletor and reverse colors Stratos.

Plus, there are figures we haven't REALLY gotten vintage versions of in terms of head sculpt. Evil-Lyn, Teela, Man-at-Arms.

And none of the figures have He-Man's vintage left bracer.

Also, I thought when He-Man got painted bracers back at SDCC when the line launched, that everybody would get them. They didn't really aside from He-Man, Faker, and Skeletor variants.

And the colors were all brightened up. You could mute them back to vintage.

In short, I see TONS of room for redoing iconic characters and would probably get most of them.

I'd also like to see new characters to keep interest up.

If you're talking about a soft relaunch? Sure. Rise of the Snakemen felt like it was supposed to be that but distribution hasn't kept up and it's been frustrating to collect. Solve that (maybe as a BBTS relaunch mixing new and old?) and I'd be enthusiastic.

    Oh.

And extra hands and accessories would be nice for reissues.

WWE Superstars gets cool hands and accessories.

It's kind of difficult to get decent matches for many Origins figures.

So maybe one option for reissues of core characters is to bump them all up to deluxe with more accessories, extra hands, alternate heads, etc.

Only if they're color variants and noticeably different from what came before. I mean, ideally I'd see some new tooling or accessories, but if the figures could only have new paint decos... I'd take a Blue Vest Adam, a Pink Mini-Comic Sorceress, Mekaneck with the more pinkish peach armor... that sort of thing. Oh, and assuming they'd come with mini-comics of course. But I'd rather NOT see the same exact figures that were packed in with vehicles, multi-packs or playsets just released again on a card. They sort of did this with Space Sumo already, and not too many of us were fans of that approach. Blow-back from that whole thing showed that most were hoping the paint decos would be metallic or... something to differentiate him from the Target Rulers Of The Sun three-pack that practically came out simultaneously with the Mattel Creations carded version.

I don’t do vehicles so i’d pick up a mek-a-neck if he got released on his own.

Considering how crappy distribution was during the pandemic and still to this day here in Canada, I’d gladly buy plenty rereleased figures in new packaging, since I hardly saw any of them the first go around!

I'm a fan of having one (loose) figure for each character to suite my little display

I do have some duplicates like multiple Skeletors (Keldor, battle armour), He-man, Hordak. But generally a single figure (origins or vintage) will do it for me.

I would pass on most repacks of figures for vehicles, but I would get a new TOD Sorceress with the new knees and any one I would use for army building.

For me it would all come down to availability. If these repackaged figures were easily available in stores at normal retail price I'd purchase more of the figures I already own just to keep in the package. I'd love to gift a future grandchild or grandchildren that take interest in my toy collection a complete set for them to open and have one Christmas.

I'm a sucker for this line and the nostalgia it holds so I'd impulse buy if they were easy to get.

I would totally buy them if they weren’t originally available single-carded. I love the single cards.

Not at all. I already have these figures and I'm an opener.

One good example I can think of is the jewel-eyed Skeletor head that comes with the Keldor in the Rise of Evil two-pack. If a jewel-eyed Skeletor were released single-carded, I would definitely buy it for display in-package. I also would be interested in a single-carded, vac-metal Battle Armor He-Man, since I don't need another Battle Cat and don't have the room to put the Battlefield Warriors box on display.

Main reason I collect masterverse is because they focus on multiple lines of shows, I know Origin has some special editions such as the He-Man bundle.
