Personally I would not want barbarian themed POP figures. I would want them to be true to their vintage counterparts just like all the other figures. I mean that is the point of Origins.

Even as a big POP fan, I question the choice they've made with POP in Origins. Even though She-Ra would usually be my #1 most wanted figure in any all-inclusive line, I still haven't even picked up Origins She-Ra. Even amongst Teela and Sorceress, she just doesn't look like she belongs in the same line. I don't even mean she looks more girly or frilly or whatever; I mean her face looks like it's a completely different style than the other females.

At best, I feel like we're going to end up with a bunch of POP figures that look alright with each other, but not really alongside the Motu figures. I honestly believe that if they wanted to do an homage to the original line, they should've done a separate POP doll line and really leaned into that aesthetic. I remember those prototype dolls they had several years back; I thought those things were really cool (although, admittedly, they were much larger).

Basically, I think you can either have vintage inspired POP looks that blend with the Origin aesthetic as best as possible and sacrifice the more doll like aesthetics, or you fully embrace the doll aesthetic and accept that the two lines won't blend well. Origins (with She-Ra at least) tries to have it both ways and fails in both regards.

I guess if you want to continue there are still 3 Butterfly Woman figures to do. (cue desperate cries of all She-Ra fans) but I'm more than fine to end it now with the 3-pack. But more ROTS toys in Masterverse would be fine, redesigns so far were great.



That's funny because I would consider 200X to be the biggest collection of nobodies, aside from Evilseed. I would go for 30th Anniversary club, it's a nice collection of some really good catches...mostly.



My answer: that's it. Just do Sharella and other vintage. I don't need POG to be a long line just as I don't need Lost Wave '88 to go beyond 6 figures. Just wrapping this up will please all that wanted POG and leave more room for people that want NA or POP. You don't have to dwell.

As for ideas for next characters. We have 2 obvious sources. One it He-Ro's team from minicomic.

Yeah obviously some of these like Eldor and Moss Man are want and must but I don't really need Veena, Gladiator or Beast Lord.

So that leaves Snake Men and honestly, Smitty, we've got more than you might think.

There, 7 more figures and probably more can be dug out (like Toxoid), heck maybe we could dig out Unnamed One. And honestly some of those are very tempting.

But I feel like we're all snaked-out at the moment and aren't ready for another snake season.

I expect they'll do a retail King Grayskull if they do PoG and it will be the Eternia version with a plastic cape and a different cardback.

Likewise, the new design for Veena is the 200x Sorceress design so I figure they'll release that as Veena.

They seem to be trying to give Origins its own continuity that uses a mix of different things. 200x is being treated as alternate clothes these characters sometimes wear.

I would love to see Crystar, Thundercats, Blackstarr, Bravestar, Dungeons & Dragons, and Thundarr the Barbarian in MOTU Origins style, but that's a whole other can of worms. Obviously, I want the Warlord, but that's impossible. Heck....even The Golden Girls are pretty darned cool, because they look much more warrior-centric.

As far as actual MOTU goes, some Preternia/Powers of Grayskull figures would be great. I'm even up for some of the Dare, Son of He-Man concept stuff. Sadly, tooling is not cheap.

I think Mattel needs to give POP a chance in Origins and I would like them to follow the ROTS format.

Some regular releases in waves (Catra, Mermista, Glimmer, Bow etc), some Mattel Creations exclusives (Netossa, Spinnerella etc) and 3 packs (Star Sisters, Perfuma/SweetBee/Sea Hawk)

That way they can finish off the whole vintage line within a year.

Here's a question: For all those asking for a Powers of Grayskull line, who would be in it? He-Ro, Eldor, and Sharella are obvious, along with the giants, but that's it for vintage. Classics added King Grayskull and Veena to that mix, so they'd be obvious to add (despite originating with 200X). How about the Classics characters from the mini-comics? I'd LOVE to finally get a Bandwidth!

Absolutely. I'd make all the characters created by Classic Minicomics ' Preternia such as Red Shadow, Bandwidth or Great Black Wizard. Vikor, Vikron and Battlefield Teela could be add too to Preternia lore.

Well its a Snake themed year for MOTU, sticking a Swift Wind or Glimmer in the mix, would stand out like a sore thumb.

I am hoping Mattel does a Horde themed year in 2024, POP characters would be perfect then. They could also release a deluxe version of She-Ra (Starburst, never had that one) and also a Fright Zone playset.

The Sun Man sub-line might not necessarily be over after that 3-pack comes out. I recall that Mattel hinted that they could go beyond just the 10 characters shown on that vintage poster. For example, there were 3 extra villains in the vintage Sun Man mini comic - Chem Brain, Snizzler, and Cube Face. As awful as those design are, it's certainly possible that they could put out figures of them. There's also a new character created just last year called Lionheart, who was confirmed to be considered official.

Just saying that it might not be as done as you think it is...

I really like Sun Man yet I find Sun Man and the ROTS to be cheezy. That said, I now find myself wanting every one of them to have an evil opposite number. It's kitschy.

Really? Subtractus was invented by Mattel or he was mentioned on Olmec years?

Anyway I think it's time to wrap up RoS. They have released all of them so i'ts enug, Mission accomplished. Maybe they could release Sun-Man with the third head and Butterfly Women as part of PoP subline.

Finish vintage characters, vehicles, and playsets that still need Origins releases sprinkled in with more Mini-Comic Versions, POP, POG, NA, 200X, Classics, Unreleased Characters, and Metorbs. To sweeten it a little further. Make concept versions of characters, vehicles, and playsets that never made it into the line.
