“I never remember feeling tired by work, though idleness exhausts me completely" - The Sign of Four
I think the forum engine is in the end of life. I asked Val if he could export to Xenforo 2 but apparently it's not compatible with what vbulletin have than other engines. We could start fresh on new forum engine but those 30 years worth of content would be gone forever.![]()

I am back in time to say so long!
Hmmm. I wonder if I can use the title of this thread just before I croak?![]()

"From Hollywood to Babylon, holy war to kingdom come
On a trail of dust and ashes, when the burning sky is done
A tide of change is coming and that is what you fear
The earthquake is a coming, but you don't want to hear"
- Iron Maiden, "Writing on the Wall"
This reminds me of Dr Facilier in Princess And The Frog..."I've Got Friends On The Other Side".![]()
"Tell me I am beautiful - it means nothing to me. Tell me I am intellectual - well, I know it already. Tell me I am funny however, and that is the greatest compliment in the world that anyone can give me".
- Julie Newmar (The Catwoman)
I can't be the only one whose mind went to morbid places upon seeing the thread title.
That being said, I've been quite seriously considering "catching the bus" lately, myself (If you know what it means, then you know what it means), so if the site/forum does actually go down completely for an extended maintenance/update period, there is a chance I won't be around when it comes back. These things are hard to predict.
In the event of, "thanks for everything" I guess. It's been....... "A way to pass the time." Yeah, that'll suffice.

Just know that there's not a single person who wouldn't prefer that you miss that bus. Even just us internet strangers. I'd rather read your opinions and thoughts on subjects than you just be gone. I very much imagine there are people (and doggies) that would miss you even more.

I'm seventy-four. I figure if I spend time worrying about dying, I'll miss out on living...and I've got a lot of living to do.
Rikki, from what I can see, you're a professional athlete that's had a long and amazing crowd-pleasing career. Ok, maybe you're not Roman Reigns, but think of all the entertainment you've brought people. Sounds to me like you've got a pretty good family, too. And there're a lot of orgers who respect you on the board. They may not always agree with you, but I'm pretty sure they respect you because you demonstrate civility and a willingness to listen. I know you've had physical challenges. So have I. But from I sit you've got a lot of blessings to count. So start counting, brother...![]()
