Official UK sightings thread

Shame our previous thread was deleted, it was becoming one of the most active in the forum!

So, I wonder if we'll see the Mecha Deluxes over here, and when?

Well, no sightings today, but I'll kick us off with the bad news (that Im sure we all knew was coming anyways) that there will be NO UK Keldor figure. That's official word from Mattel. We also won't be getting Teela, and any other exclusives are almost entirely unlikely.

Other than that small announcement, please use this thread for any future UK sightings

That's so stupid that we won't be getting one of the most important characters in the cartoon released!

I'm thinking Mattel U.K. is just as stupid as the U.S. Mattel!

Really, what is released in the U.S. should have the same release here and vice versa!

What is Mattel's fascination with a different version of He-man with each wave? Don't toy companies realise that once you have bought a character, you are not gonna be buying that same character again!

I say get rid of these variants and bring on figures that sell the best like Zodak, and let Teela be available over here!

Anyway after that rant, has anyone spotted the Snake wave anywhere apart from Toys R us yet?

I haven't been out into town around the shops since saturday. That's the last time I checked in Woolworths and they just had 2 U.S. Orko's and 2 He-man variant's (might have been Ice armor He-man or something like that)

Obviously we won't see Argos have the Snake men until 24th July.

Any sightings at The Entertainer, Tesco or Toymaster yet?

Who thinks that everywhere will have them roughly the same time Argos gets them? (Saturday 24th)

I think that is looking likely.

Nope. Still no sign of them in Woolworths, Toymaster, Tesco, Asda or any of the smaller shops. Or, for that matter, in the Toys R Us around here. I did finally find a Buzz-off in the Woolworths in White Rose, Leeds, though! The only UK released figures (excluding Snakes) I still don't have now are Sy-Klone and Zodak.

I'll laugh so hard if the He-Store gets the Snakes w/ SA He-Man before they go on general release here and it's easier for US customers to get them than us..

I cant believe they are not releasing Teela!? Thats just stupid. Mattel are single handedly driving this brand into the ground! I cant understand it, I just cant.

In the Argos sale Power Swords are an amazingly low price of £3.49! WOW!

ok this is sort of a sighting thing while anyone is getting new figures can they ask to have the box the 6 carded figure came in so i can store some of my figures i have over 50 and have no where to put them now if u can get more then 1 even better i will pay the postage to have it sent to me.

Actually, no-one has confirmed that the line will DEFINITELY end after the Snakemen ...there are still a helluva lot of possible toys and there are still a lot of people interested in them. In my personal opinion, if Mattel had better case ratios from the start then maybe we wouldn't have had all these problems.


For example I bought a case at the start of the line (wave 2 villains) which had 6 figures in it. "Great!" I thought, "Two of everything"....but when I opened the case and found one Trap-Jaw, one Tri-Klops and FOUR, yes FOUR Spin Blade Skeletors I thought "This line is screwed".

If there'd been two of everything or, as in the case of much later cases, one each of six different items, then everything would have been hunky-dory.

Who knows...maybe we will still see Clawful, Webstor, Stinkor, Count Marzo, Evilseed, Hordak, Tung Lashor, Sssqquueezzzee, Snake Face..etc, etc.

Then again maybe not, but think about it...two months ago I didn't think we'd ever see Snake Armor He-Man, but now.........well let's wait and see, huh?

I think that with regard to new figures, if Mattel are going to do something with the line, it would not include doing sub-characters e.g. Webstor, Stinkor.....YET. I would imagine that they are more likely to do a MOTU Vs The Snakemen. Bring out a new line that ties to a particular thing.
My reason for this is that it makes sense to create a marketing campain around one BIG thing rather than a few new character figures!!
What can this mean............

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Vs THE EVIL HORDE

However..I must stress that this is only likely to happen IF Mattel decide to carry on with the line!!

Good to hear from antoher York fan, and yes our Toys R Us sucks!! I asked one girl to check for MOTU toys, she came back 2 mins later to check if it was master and commander toys!!!!
They told me that as they are one of the smallest stores they might not even get them, but I wouldn't be supprised if she just went around the corner stood there for 5, then came back with this story!! I'm off to London today, for the weekend and will be calling in at Hamleys and Forbidden Planet, let me know if there is anything that you need!!

Dude, Hamleys and FP have no MotU! Unless you want MAA or Bashin Beetle! Try Woolies or TRU or Harrods...

I agree with Ultimate Evil, and one thing to bear in mind is how long it takes to produce a new figure.
We know there are a couple already sculpted, enough for Mattel to do a relaunch??(I don't know). As far as I am aware it takes about a year from start to finish to create a figure, which means we probably wont be seeing any new figures anytime soon.
I know I am kinda contradicting what I said earlier about the Horde, though that is still a possibility.

That's the heroes wave. My TRU hasn't had the enemies yet, so I dunno the number for them.

As for the future, Mattel UK has told us that theres one more heroes assortment, and then that's your lot.

It could well be though, that if the head office at Mattel is planning any kind of relaunch, Mattel UK probably don't know anything about it.
They weren't even aware there is a She-Ra figure being produced.

They're currently trying to unload this rubbish on the He-store (see Main Forum). I can only hope Mattel UK will wise up and maybe we'll see a new assortment with the likes of a Repainted Teela, Repainted Syclone, 'the once mentioned' Spike Armour Ram-man, Trap and Smash Orko and Snake Buster MEF.

After all, it would be pointless to just re-release exisiting figures which are readily available on red cards.

Bottom line: If the line is going to end here... at least make it 'positive'.
