Description

Synopsis:

He-Man and the Masters are sent to the borderlands to fight Skeletor and his minions. While there, Man-At-Arms has a dream in which the Sorceress warns him to beware of friends who are actually enemies. The Masters fight Skeletor. When he is defeated, Skeletor appears to destroy himself as well as Evil-Lyn, Tri-Klops, and Beastman.

Shortly thereafter, four new heroes approach The Masters. They introduce themselves as "Steelork" (Skeletor - wears blue), "Nyvelli" (Evil-Lyn - wears purple), "Potskril" (Tri-Klops - wears green), and "Abstanem" (Beastman - wears no shirt).

As they journey to the palace, "Abstanem" and "Potskril" use the powers of Beastman and Tri-Klops to protect The Masters. When "Nyvelli" refers to the queen by name, He-Man realizes the newcomers are more than they appear.

Queen Marlena recounts her spacecraft's crash on Eternia. She says her crew survived the crash as well, but their parachutes dropped them in the dark hemisphere. Marlena recognizes Evelyn Powers (scientist; now Evil-Lyn), Biff Beastman (technician; now Beastman), and Dr. Scope (scientist; now Tri-Klops). The Evil Warriors resume their normal form. He-Man sticks his sword into a the firey pit that appeared when Skeletor triggered the transformation, as it is Skeletor's source of power for the spell. A "force of good" (supplied by the Sorceress) emerges and banishes the four to the dark hemisphere.

Prince Adam is shown later vowing to use his power to battle for good on behalf of his father's Eternia and his mother's "faraway planet".

Analysis:

"Steelork", "Nyvelli", "Potskril", and "Abstanem" are anagrams or words created from the rearrangement of the letters of the names Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Tri-Klops, and Beastman.

In this story, Evil-Lyn, Tri-Klops, and Beastman were on the same spacecraft as Queen Marlena. Although this book does not specifically mention the ship's origin, other stories describe Marlena as being from Earth - which would mean Evil-Lyn, Tri-Klops, and Beastman were also from Earth!
