The first is a memory of when Adora joined Catra in making fun of Ocatvia, a higher-ranking Horde Soldier, after the latter had gotten into a fight. Afterwards, Adora and Catra start to reconcile and Adora uses this opportunity to try and convert Catra into a member of the rebellion. Things however take a turn for the worse as another flashback ensues, recalling a time Adora excelled during a Horde training exercise, leaving Catra frustrated and angry at Adora’s excellency. Back in the present, Adora then rescues Catra from the spider-monsters, just in time for the next past flashback. When they were kids, Adora and Catra sneaked into Shadow Weaver’s chambers without her permission, and were later caught when their mother when she was recharging with the Black Garnet. When caught, Shadow Weaver placed all the blame on Catra, despite Adora’s pleas stating that sneaking in was her idea too, which the dark sorceress ignored. Reflecting on this, Catra’s anger is intensified due to her belief Adora was always trying to get on her abuser’s good side, and that she still couldn’t stand up for her in a way that actually defied Shadow Weaver’s authority. Catra then tells Adora she gave her the sword so that she wouldn’t return to the Fright Zone. Catra’s hatred for Adora only grows when she sees a flashback where Adora promised Catra she would never leave her.

Adora struggles to fight off more monsters, causing her to fall over a ledge. Adora manages to grab the edge and hang on, with nothing but darkness below her. Catra catches up with Adora and grabs her sword, declaring that now with Adora gone, she can now pursue her full ambitions in the Horde and achieve her full potential without anybody holding her back. Catra tosses the sword into the abyss, leaving Adora all by herself. Light Hope then appears before Adora and tells her to let go, to which Adora does, plunging into the darkness below.

Catra then returns to Scorpia and Entrapta in the Fright Zone. She gives the two of them a piece of First Ones tech she retrieved from the Crystal Castle, and retires for the night.
