MOTU Origins Rio Blast was based on the original 1986 figure. Like the vintage figure, he had pop-out guns located in his chest, thighs and forearms, as well as a backpack that doubled as another set of guns and a targeting sight. In a nod to the MOTU Classics figure and the 200x design, Rio Blast came with silver tubes connecting his arms to his backpack.
