He-Man and friends continue their search for the Sword of Flaws, hoping to find the violet blade before Skeletor and his minions do. Along the way, He-Man trades punches with an ancient Eternian God as the Sorceress and Orko seek to learn more about the mysterious sword’s origins.

Issue 2 starts with a charming flashback set in Duncan’s workshop. Focusing on the childhood relationship between Adam and Teela as they meet the newest addition to the royal family, Cringer the scaredy cat. As young Prince Adam complains to Duncan about Cringer’s cowardice and Teela’s refusal to play with him, Man at Arms gets to flex his muscles as a father-figure and advises the young boy about serving others instead of complaining about what he is owed by his subjects… time will tell if this lesson in humility will have any impact on the future Champion of Eternia (SPOILER: Prince Adam grows into a selfless hero and leader).

The flashback ends quickly as the present story begins to unfold, and He-Man and his allies soon find themselves trekking through the snowy Heavenpiercer mountains of Eternia when they encounter the Titan Procrustus. Meanwhile, the Evil Warriors of Snake Mountain are launching their own expedition to claim the Sword of Flaws, with Evil-Lyn using her seductive ways to convince Skeletor of its potential in matching He-Man’s power.

Issue 2 continues the Seeley/Williams tradition of including plenty of deep cuts in its character roster, including Fearless Photog, Battle Bones, and Gygor which is sure to delight fans. On the other hand, some fans might balk at Evil-Lyn’s overt seductiveness and how easily she uses her womanly wiles to sway Skeletor to do her bidding. Overall, “The Sword of Flaws” #2 isn’t quite as strong as the first issue, but it still packs in plenty of action and intrigue to drive the story forward.

“The Sword of Flaws” #2 from Dark Horse Comics, Tim Seeley, and Freddie Williams II is available now. Issue 3 and Issue 4 will be available January 14, 2026, and February 11, 2026, respectively.
