Faction: Heroic Warriors

Special Edition He-Man was offered in a buy three, get one free promotion by Mattel in 1983. He seems to have come with a random assortment of one or two accessories from the assorted bonus weapons that were offered with Man-E-Faces, typically the short sword, axe and/or shield. The promotion was introduced in the Spring of 1983, with figures shipping out by the Summer of 1983. Formerly he was known as “Wonder Bread He-Man,” based on an erroneous fan theory that he had something to do with a Wonder Bread promotion. Internally at Mattel he was called “Special Edition He-Man,” although he came with no card or packaging, other than a plain mailer envelope and a clear poly bag. He is commonly called “Wun-Dar” today ever since he was released under that name in the MOTU Classics line in 2010. Another common fan name for him is “Savage He-Man.” He had a spring-loaded power punch action feature and six points of articulation.
