About He-Man.org

The site that became He-Man.Org was founded in 1997 when fan sites by Adam Tyner and Matt Ratzloff were merged together. Jason Moore submitted the registration for the He-Man.Org domain name on November 25, 1997, and the domain became active in early 1998. When Val Staples saw Adam’s early site, he wanted to contribute, so he immediately got to work photographing his figure collection. After developing the photos, he scanned them and emailed them to Adam to add to the site. Val also worked as a moderator on Adam’s forums, before the site was known as He-Man.Org.

Because hosting costs were getting unaffordable for the site’s original owners, in 2000 Val took over hosting costs and ownership of the site. Meanwhile, experts like Emiliano Santalucia, Alessio Di Marco, Josh Van Pelt, James Eatock, Zadoc Angell, Jukka Issakainen, Pixel Dan and others ended up partnering with and contributing to the content and success of He-Man.Org as it continued to grow. Emiliano and Alessio’s site, Masters Unbound, was eventually folded into He-Man.Org, as was James and Zadoc’s Filmation episode review site. Many He-Fans and She-Ravers over the years contributed images and information to the archives and news sections of the Org, helping it to grow into the largest He-Man and She-Ra fan site on the internet.

By 2023, He-Man.Org unfortunately had grown too large to keep hosting in the existing format, at least affordably. However, the plan was always to bring the site back in some form, this time managed by Adam McCombs, founder of Battle Ram: A He-Man Blog. It took some time to secure new hosting for the site. We (the new He-Man.Org team) started building out the site again from scratch in April 2025. While most of the images from the old site are preserved, many of them are 20 years old at this point, and not all are good enough to use. The plan going forward is to rebuild the most important resources from the old site, using newer images and scans where possible. However we are going to be including the best and most important images from the old site too. Going through those images will take time, and it will also take some time to build out pages and sections. You may notice that many parts of the new He-Man.Org will be under construction as we continue to work on it.

He-Man.Org is being primarily rebuilt by Adam McCombs, Ben Massa and Jukka Issakainen, but we may add more to the team as we continue to work on the site. We’ve already gotten some help in the form of resources by experts in the community like Djordje Djokovic, spiritofsnakemountain, Allison Troy, Ken Kacal, Alf Inflikt, and others. We will also be getting additional images from Josh Van Pelt and Pete LeRose in the near future.

Adam McCombs

Adam was a relative late-comer to He-Man.Org, joining the forums in 2012. Just a few years later he founded Battle Ram: A He-Man Blog, dedicated to researching and documenting the history of the original Masters of the Universe toyline (you can read more about the history of Battle Ram Blog here). Adam has been involved in various He-Man related projects since then, including work on Pixel Dan’s The Toys of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe book and guest articles in Mundo Masters and ToyCollectr Magazine. Adam consulted on Netflix’s The Toys That Made Us and has appeared on various Masters of the Universe-related podcasts. Adam originally started collecting He-Man toys in 1982.

Jukka Issakainen

Jukka Issakainen is a lifelong Masters of the Universe fan who grew up with the original toyline, cartoon and comics. The comics featured adventures from publishers DC, STAR/Marvel, London Editions, etc so from an early age he embraced the idea that Eternia was a world with many stories to tell, often without a single, unified canon.

While he appreciates all versions of the franchise, Jukka has a special fondness for the Filmation series, thanks to its warm character dynamics and strong moral lessons. He discovered MOTU fan communities online in 1997, at a time when the internet was still in its infacy. Websites like the He-Man and She-Ra Episode Review Website, He-Man.Org and others was pivotal in connecting with other fans around the world and deepening his knowledge about all things He-Man and She-Ra. From German audio-stories to more international comics. The arrival of the 2002 reboot series was a turning point in his fandom. His passion for the series led to a unique opportunity: voicing Captain Miro in the Finnish dub of the show. Years later, he wrote The Unofficial Cartoon Guide to the 2002 He-Man Series and has interviewed several creators from the 2002 cartoon, the 2012-2016 comics and the recent Netflix He-Man Revelation & Revolution .

Today, Jukka Issakainen is the host of the Eternia Fact Files YouTube channel, sometimes featuring exclusive content from Mattel – and is a co-contributor to the Battle Ram Blog. He has been a contributing writer for several official Masters of the Universe publications from Dark Horse, including The Minicomic Collection, The Character Guide and World Compendium, and its Supplement. and has also written lore and background research to Archon Studios’ Fields of Eternia & MOTU Battleground board games.

Ben Massa

Ben Massa has been a lifelong collector of MOTU from the very beginning. Like most kids from the early 80s his imagination ran wild with tales of adventure and magic, spending countless hours playing with the Masters action figures. His passion grew with the release of the 200x series and carried his collecting hobby to a new level. Flash forward to the pandemic era and the release of the MOTU Origins figures and his passion went into overdrive.

In 2019 seeing that something was missing from the community Ben started collecting international MOTU themed publications, comics, magazines, and rare hard to find printed materials. Collecting everything from coloring books to comics all coming from Europe, South America, Asia, and the UK. These stories from our favorite Eternian Heroes were mostly if not all completely unknown by the kids that grew up in the United States. With countless dedicated hours and a small fortune Ben amassed one of the biggest publications collections out there and built the Facebook group Orko’s Keep to share and showcase all of these great forgotten treasures.

Ben’s mission with joining forces with He-Man.Org is to help preserve and share these incredible stories with all fans. His dedication to archiving 40 plus year old printed materials is a passion that reminds each of us that “We All Have The Power!”
