New Adventures of He-Man Toys (1989-1991)

The He-Man line (dubbed “New Adventures” by fan after the title of the accompanying cartoon show) debuted in 1989. Here is a quick guide to all of the figures, beasts, vehicles, playsets and accessories in this line! This page is under construction, check back frequently to see what’s new!

First Wave: 1989

The first wave of the “New Adventures” line featured the new slim body types used at the start of the line. Most of the figures had unique action features. The heroes tended to look somewhat generic, while the villains were more creative.

Second Wave: 1990

The second wave of the “New Adventures” line featured slightly bulkier versions of the He-Man and Skeletor. This wave saw the introduction of the fantastic Nordor playset, and the design of the villains tended to be even more creative and bizarre than in the first wave.

Third Wave: 1991

The third wave of the “New Adventures” line featured bulkier body types for nearly all of the characters, but most especially He-Man and Skeletor. This year the design of the heroes got much more creative with characters like Sagitar and Tuskador. Uniquely this year, three characters other than He-Man and Skeletor were released as new variants: Hook ’em Flogg, Too-Tall Hoove and Spin Fist Hydron.
