MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Filmation Mer-Man was based on the character as he appeared in the 1983 He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series produced by Filmation. Mer-Man came with a trident and the Pearl of Power, which appeared in the episode “City Beneath the Sea.”
